BOOTS AND LACE
by Myla Jackson

Blurb

She wants no strings…but he wants it all.
After her philandering husband left her, Lacey Lambert found sanctuary, and a better class of friends, at the Ugly Stick Saloon. She learned that the best revenge—against her ex, and the “friends” who kicked her out of the Temptation Garden Club—is to live life to the fullest.

Now that her best friend is moving out of her apartment building, she’s feeling a little lonely. And more than ready for a little commitment-free sex with the hot new downstairs tenant.

Freshly divorced, Nick McBride isn’t looking for another failed relationship. But when the luscious brunette offers no-strings sex—with him and his brother—he can’t come up with a good reason to refuse.
After he gets over the shock that she likes it loud, long, and in front of an open window, he finds himself wanting more time with her. Maybe even on a permanent basis. But it’ll take every ounce of his cowboy charms to convince her to let him sweep her off her feet.

Warning: Contains a motorcycle-ridin’ cowboy, a wild-and-free woman who doesn’t care what the town biddies think, and semi-public sex loud enough to set tongues a-waggin’!

“I can give you a boost.” Nick locked his fingers, cupped his hands and bent.

Cory stuck his foot in Nick’s hands and reached for the alarm. He could barely grasp it enough to unhook it from the old building’s high ceiling. “Got it.”

“Now, pull the old battery out and leave the rest hanging until you can get another battery. And hurry it up, will ya? My fingers are slipping.”

“Just a minute. The damned battery is being stubborn.”

“I’m serious, I’m about to drop you.” Nick swayed, his fingers slipping apart.

“Just…one…more…”

A knock on the door startled both men.

Nick lost his grip, Cory fell and both men landed on the floor as the door opened to the beautiful waitress from the Ugly Stick Saloon, wearing that breast-huggin white tank top, the shorter-than-short pair of jean cutoffs and bearing a tray filled with cheesy, gooey pizza.

She smiled, bent and scooped up both their towels, which had dropped loose when they’d fallen. Balancing the pizza tray with one hand and the towels looped over the other, she raised her eyebrows. “Having a little fun without me?”

Nick felt the heat rise from his chest into his face when he realized what this must look like. Cory lay draped across him in a highly suggestive position. At least he covered Nick’s privates from the woman’s view.
Cory laughed out loud. “Lacey, I wondered when you would show up. Kendall said you’d probably stop by to say hello.”

“Did she?” Lacey’s eyes narrowed. “What else did she say?”

Cory’s grin broadened. “She said to watch out that you were on the prowl.”

“She’s a bigmouth, but since I’m here…” She waggled her eyebrows, her gaze panning over both men’s groins. “Of course, if you’re gay, maybe you can let me watch, or I’ll pretend to be a boy and we can all have a little fun.”

Nick choked and jumped to his feet, his hands forming a fig leaf over his crotch.

Cory chortled. “Ah, Lacey, nothing like cutting to the chase. We were just trying to kill the smoke detector and fell.”

Lacey pouted. “Well, darn.” Her gaze went to Nick, sliding down his chest to where his hands covered his privates.

“Do you mind?” Nick held out his hand for a towel, the heat her gaze generated pooling in his groin.

“A shame to cover something so fine.” She grinned and tossed him the towel. “So, are you interested?”
In her? Hell yeah. She hadn’t been off his mind since he’d walked into the Ugly Stick Saloon earlier. Nick grabbed the towel and slung it around his hips.

Standing naked in front of her had thrown him off-balance and he wasn’t certain how to get back on an even keel. “I don’t know…”

“It’s a meat-lover’s pizza.” She stood there with her nipples puckered beneath the shirt, her brows raised in challenge. “Unless pizza’s not your thing…” She turned as if to leave, throwing a wink over her shoulder.

BOOTS AND CHAPS
by Myla Jackson

Blurb

She gave up stripping to go legit…until three Kiowa cowboys bring on the down-and-dirty.

Jackson Gray Wolf is turning thirty, and what does he have to show for it? A ranch. No wife, no kids, no dates. He’s had his eye on the pretty owner of the Ugly Stick Saloon, but their one accidental encounter was interrupted before he could get her out of her take-me-now red cowboy boots.
Audrey Anderson isn’t in the market for a man. Been there, done that, has the scars to prove it. She retired her pole-dancing boots after purchasing the Ugly Stick Saloon, and now manages a stable of strippers. When she winds up one stripper short for a private party, she’s forced to slip on a mask and into the role of the mysterious Kiki.

Jackson didn’t want the birthday bash his twin brothers are throwing him, but his vow to ignore the rented stripper goes awry when she shows him exactly how far she’s willing to go—for all three of them.
Audrey can’t forget the sizzling heat between her and one sexy Kiowa in particular. Jackson. Trouble is, she’s not sure if he wants the bold, brassy Kiki, or if he’s ready for the wounded woman underneath.
Warning: This title contains hot scenes with multiple partners, with a little BDSM on the side. Caution—it could melt your e-reader!

“I’m Kiki.” She lifted a hand toward him, beckoning, speaking for the first time, her voice low, husky and dripping with sensuality. “Don’t you want to join us?”

His feet moved him forward a step before Jackson’s brain engaged. “No. I don’t do foursomes.”

“That’s too bad…because I do.” She shrugged and traced a finger along the side of Luke’s face, sliding lower to the length of his neck and down his chest where she flicked the buttons of his shirt open.

Jackson told himself to leave the room and let his brothers have their fun. He backed up a step with every intention of returning to his bedroom, maybe to a cold shower or two.

Kiki’s tongue poked out of her mouth and slid along her full, voluptuous lips. Her chin dipped and she shot a half smile at him, her light eyes shining through the black mask.

“Oh, come on, Jackson.” Mark’s hands rested on the woman’s hips, rising slowly up her sides to cup her breasts. “Stick around for the show. Really, what’s it going to hurt?”

What would it hurt? His balls and his dick, that’s what. If he didn’t get some relief soon, he’d bust the buttons on his jeans. Jackson resisted adjusting himself, refusing to let his brothers know how much their little stripper had him under her spell.

He forced his shoulders to relax enough to shrug. “I guess I’d better stick around and make sure you two don’t make any unwanted advances.”

Mark’s hands slipped around Kiki’s waist and down to the triangle of material. “Hey, sweetheart, let me know when my advances are unwanted.”

“Oh, baby, I’m wanting.” She clasped his hands and slid them inside the white fabric, leaning back against him, her head resting on his chest, exposing the long, sexy line of her neck.

Cory jerked away and a larger pair of hands clamped around her waist, holding her in place. "What the hell?" When she twisted toward her captor, he refused to let her, his hips pumping to the rhythm of the music, his hands sliding up her waist.

Cory danced by with a shrug and a grin.

Kendall’s heart raced, defensive instincts kicking in. "Let go of me."

Chaps flapped against her legs. Chaps that barely covered the massive thighs beneath them.

Kendall's heart raced and a slow burn skimmed beneath every inch of her skin. A quick glance over her shoulder did nothing to quell the rise of heat in her body. The man behind her wore a cowboy hat and a black mask. "Who are you?"

The man's mouth curved upward in a deadly sexy smile. "The Lone Ranger, ma'am. Here to rescue you," he said in a deep voice.

So deep, Kendall could have fallen into it. Her breath grew ragged as the cowboy's hands slid up from her waist to cup her breasts. Kendall leaned back into him, his tough leather and man-musk scent making her knees weak. "No, really." Her voice ragged, she swallowed hard and continued. "Who are you?"

"Ride with me into the sunset, beautiful lady, and I'll reveal all."

Her heart skipped several beats then raced to catch up. Hell, what was she thinking? She loved Ed, not this sexy cowboy who danced in strip clubs. "No. No, I can't. I have a boyfriend. I'm practically engaged."

He spun her away from him and back into his arms so that she faced him. "This Cory dude is not the man for you."

Her boobs crashed into his naked chest, forcing her breath out in a gasp. Kendall stared into the man's sky blue eyes.

He lifted his cowboy hat and winked.

"Ed?" Joy swelled in her chest as Kendall stood stock still in the middle of the dance floor. "What are you doing here?"

"Keeping you from making a mistake with pretty boy." He nodded his head toward Cory.

"By dancing naked in front of all these barracudas?" She shook her head and laughed out loud. "Really, why are you here?"

"That's just it. I couldn't let you go out on a date with Cory. He's not the right man for you."

Irritation straightened her spine. Kendall planted her fists on her hips and faced off with Ed Judson. "No? Then who is, Ed? Who is the right man for me?"

Excerpt

Reggie Gallagher ducked behind the last in a row of Dumpsters and braced her hands on her knees, dragging in huge gulps of air. Sweat ran down the side of her face, and the black ribbed tank top she wore clung to her breasts. The coastal humidity and heat acted like a steam bath even when she was standing still. For the moment, all she could hear was the ragged gasps of her breath wheezing in and out of her straining lungs. And despite the retched stench of the waste beside her, she welcomed the respite from the chase.
Where was Madison? She’d been right behind Reggie until now.

The quiet of the alley was broken when pounding footsteps entered and raced toward her.
Risking a stealthy glance around the hard metal corner of the Dumpster, Reggie confirmed the runner, and she reached out to snag her and pull her in beside her.

“Can’t…stop.” Madison bent low, her shoulders heaving with the effort to fill her oxygen-starved lungs.
“Breathe,” Reggie ordered, and tapped the miniature headset positioned inside her ear like a hearing aid. “I can think of a hundred friggin' better ways to spend Valentine's Day. ”

“I'd have preferred...chocolates. ”

“Where the hell are Jordan and Mike?”

“It’s…as…if…they disappeared.” Madison sucked in air and gushed, “Ah, shit! I can’t breathe. I don’t know if those guys saw me turn down here, but they can’t be far behind.”

“Then let’s go.” Reggie shot another glance around the corner of the Dumpster. The alley was empty. She waited another second and then grabbed her sister’s hand, pulling her along behind her.

“There!” The shout of one of their pursuers echoed off the brick of the multistory structures rising up from their concrete foundations. The buildings spread over entire blocks, channeling Reggie and Madison through the worst part of Houston, leaving few places to hide or take cover. How had the mission gone south so fast? Where was their backup?

“They’ll catch us at this rate,” Madison shouted between gasps. “Gotta split up.”

“No!” But before Reggie could tighten her grip, her younger sister pulled free and swung left, sprinting west, away from the downtown area.

Reggie glanced back at the group of six men closing in behind her. If she played her hand right, they’d follow her and leave Madison alone. The fastest runner on the team at the Paranormal Investigative Agency, she could outrun every man, except perhaps the boss. Tanner was made of iron and muscles. No one could outrun, out gun or outsmart him.

But if she wanted to live, Reggie had better make it her goal to beat all of his records and then some. She just hoped the hell Madison got away.

Summoning every last ounce of energy, she punched out, running straight for two blocks to ensure the bad boys behind her wouldn’t branch off and pursue her sister. Just as she was about to veer east, a shot rang out and something hard and fast slammed against her left shoulder, spinning her around so quickly she crashed into the brick corner of an office building.

Surprise numbed the pain for the first five seconds until her heart resumed function, kicking her blood through her body and out the ragged exit wound in the front of her shoulder. Her stomach lurched, and the pale glow of the streetlamps dimmed. No. She couldn’t pass out. Not now. Have to run. Have to get farther away from Madison.

As fog crept in around her peripheral vision, Reggie rounded the corner she’d been aiming for and set off at a swift jog, her pace slowing more each time her heels hit the pavement.

No. This couldn’t happen. She would not be another one of the victims she risked her life to protect. No way would the gang members or bloodsuckers take her down as they’d done her father.
Heartless bastards! All of them.

Although Tanner said there were good vamps out there, Reggie had it firmly in her mind that the only good vampire was a dead vampire. She repeated the words like a cadence, motivating her legs to keep pumping and her feet to continue moving away from her attackers.

“The only good vampire is a—” With only half a block between her and the six men, she reached the end of the street and swung a hard right, running into a solid wall of steel. Her forehead made contact and then her chest, knocking what little air was left from her lungs. The force of the collision made her bounce backward, her head snapping up. With no air to sustain breathing and her vision blurred, the ground sucked her downward. As her knees buckled, her mouth completed her sentence. “Dead vampire.”
