What's a girl to do when she's got a kind, decent and sexy hot cowboy in one hand and a mystery, masked, black-hatted cowboy with friends lurking in the shadows?

Does she go for the one she knows who will always be there for her and never let her down? Or does she opt for the adventure, excitement and possible desertion of the one who remains anonymous?

Desperate times call for...

With her decision pretty much made, Charli knows she will have to break the news to the losing team at the Cowboy Masquerade Ball. Wouldn't ya know, nothing turns out the way she plans.

EXCERPT:

“What’s this?” Connor touched the paper lodged between her fingers.

Charli’s heartbeat fluttered against her ribs, and she jerked her hand behind her back. “Just a note to myself.” She fought to keep from freaking out. What if he demanded to see the note? Obviously, he hadn’t sent the flowers, leaving Original Sin as the mystery sender and penman of the Love you naked note.

“Let me see.” Connor held out his hand.

Her first instinct was to shove the note into her mouth and swallow it to keep Connor from discovering her secret. But sure as she tried, she’d choke on it, he’d have to save her, she’d be embarrassed and he’d see the note all nasty and damp anyway.

Charli reached out with her empty hand and pulled Connor close. “I missed you, too.” She slipped her hand behind him, sliding it into his back jeans pocket, tugging him closer until the ridge of his fly dug into her belly.
“Any chance your lunch break is long enough to take up where we left off?” She wiggled her hips, rubbing him suggestively.

His fingers curled around her waist and he held her still. “Don’t, unless you mean it.”

What had started as a ploy to distract his attention from the note had blown into full-fledged lust. Charli’s body burned so hot she feared her clothes would catch fire. Suddenly she couldn’t wait to get out of them and strip Connor naked. “I mean it. Can you tell me that you can wait until three or four o’clock in the morning to do this?” Charli stepped back, her fingers going to the buttons on her shirt, flicking them open one at a time. She led him toward her bedroom, her shirt falling to the floor.

“I really should get back to work. I have a lot to do…” Connor’s voice faced off as Charli’s fingers closed around the rivet at the waistband of her jeans. “Then again…” He took one step forward.

Charli’s smile broadened and she flipped free the rivet. “Fifteen minutes, that’s all I’m asking. Otherwise it’ll be the tiny hours of tomorrow morning before you see me like this again.”

Connor’s gaze rested on Charli’s fingers as she slid down the zipper, exposing the black lace thong beneath. His Adam’s apple rose and fell as he swallowed hard. “I guess I could spare fifteen minutes.” He took another step, then another.

“You have to catch me first.” Charli shimmied out of her jeans, turned and ran for the bedroom, excitement bubbling up in her veins, a giggle rising from her throat.

“Game on,” Connor said behind her, a thud of a boot hitting the floor followed by another before socked feet pounded down the hallway after her.

He caught her at the foot of her bed, lifted her in the air, kissed her soundly, and then tossed her on the mattress.

Snippet Saturday - Seduction

THREE'S A CHARM
by Myla Jackson

BLURB:

Welcome back to the Ugly Stick Saloon with this short story about Charli's third erotic adventure.

She wants to know...

Charli Sutton barely remembers being bored in Temptation, Texas. Ever since a mystery cowboy dared her to skinny-dip in Judge Stephen's pool, she's been tempted to participate in more dirty tricks. Charli anxiously awaits the next in the string of sexual fantasies her cowboy has in store.

Will she discover who her secret lover is this time?

Warning: Mystery Cowboy, sexually frustrated woman and one dare after another, leading to a little bondage, a little dominance and a whole lot of sex—hot enough to burn the pages!
EXCERPT:

"You know a lot about me...I'd like to be equally as knowledgeable about you." Charli leaned forward, her top loosening, a waft of cool air tickling her nipples. She was almost positive the men at her sides could view her full breasts, should they bother to look. The thought weighted her core with desire.

"You may ask three questions." OS waved his hand. "But be warned. I guarantee no answers."

Charli pouted and asked the most important question, "What's your name?"

He shook his head. "That's the mystery portion of the danger equation. Next question."

Frustration stabbed her chest and she sat back. "Are you a cowboy, or do you just wear the clothes?"

"I've been known to rope, ride, wrangle and build a fence or two."

She straightened. Maybe now they were getting somewhere. The guy  was real cowboy. "Are you here with the rodeo?"

He shrugged, noncommittally. "I admit to having spent a day or two there, on occasion."

A frustrated sigh slipped past Charli's lips. That wasn't much of an answer. "Are you Connor Mason?"

The cowboy smiled. "That's four questions." He waved to the cowboy with the fiddle, who promptly disappeared. The cowboy serving the wine and dinner ducked out as well.

"If you're finished with your meal, perhaps you would care for dessert?"

"I suppose." Charli wanted to know where the other two men had gone and if they were serving more than music and food, but she'd used up her quota of questions.

The man in the black cowboy hat stood and held the chair while Charli rose. His fingers settled on her shoulders, sliding down the length of her arms. The brush of lips at the curve of her neck sent her body into a rush of electric shocks, tingling all the way to her center.

"Is this dessert?" she whispered, her head dipping to one side, allowing him better access to her throat.

"Not quite. I have dessert waiting in another room." His hands slipped beneath the swaths of fabric and cupped her breasts, pulling her against him, the hard ridge of his erection pressing into her back. "Shall we?"

"The table is closer," Charli offered weakly, the rough hands palming her boobs setting her core on fire. She was ready to start the fucking now.

He chuckled, pinched her hardened nipples and slapped her ass. Then he turned her toward another doorway and led her into the room with the bedroom displays, equally exposed to the large display windows at the front of the furniture store. In the middle of the floor stood a king-sized bed, draped in black satin sheets, with red satin pillows scattered across the mattress. White rose petals littered the surface, their aroma adding to the ambiance.

Charli's pulse hammered through her veins. Oh, yeah, baby. This was going to be good.

The two cowboys appeared from the shadows, each wearing nothing but black silk boxers, their masks and the cowboy hats.

The cowboy from the night before set a bowl of strawberries and a riding whip on the nightstand and stood with legs braced apart, both hands crossed over a rock-hard erection tenting his silk shorts.

On the other side of the bed, the new cowboy arranged a bowl of whipped cream and a length of rope. He too stood at parade rest, a smile tugging at his lips, his hands cupping the stiffy poking against his boxers.

Charli's breath caught and held in her lungs and she turned to Original Sin. "For me?"

"Dessert has arrived.” He smiled and gestured toward the bed. “All you have to decide is how you want it served."

BLURB:

Ugly Stick Saloon

Libby Jones had been on the road for over a year, running from her past, when she landed in Temptation, Texas, working at the Ugly Stick Saloon. Eight months later, she knows she has to leave or risk her past catching up with her. Then why did she take the Gray Wolf twins up on an offer to go riding on their ranch? Getting involved wasn't in the cards for this free-rider.

They're just the Kiowa Cowboys to rope her in...

Mark and Luke Gray Wolf had been trying to capture Libby Jones's attention since she'd started work at the Ugly Stick, only she's blown them off at every attempt to ask her out, until now. Determined to show her a good time on the ranch, they take her to their special project site on the ranch and show her what she's been missing for eight months. They're plan: to expose her to the temptations only twins can provide to persuade her to stay for the long haul.

Convinced she's falling for the two, Libby longs for a life she can't have, knowing she must leave before her whereabouts are discovered. But all hell breaks loose when her past walks through the doors of the saloon. They Gray Wolf twins have a fight on their hands to keep Libby from running again.

EXCERPT:

LOCATION - UGLY STICK SALOON

When they lifted Charli up onto bar, she carried a microphone and leaned against one of the brace posts, one leg sliding up the other as she sang a dirty, sexy song while Kendall, Lacey, Bella and Libby danced in unison.

The crowd clapped in time, swaying to the sound, laughing and shouting, reaching out to touch the girls on the bar. One drunk cowboy made a grab for Libby’s ankle and almost pulled it out from under her.

Mark lunged forward, ready to slam a fist into every one of the men who tried to grope Libby.

Luke’s backhand across his chest stopped him before he’d gone two steps. “You can’t. It’s part of her job with the saloon.”

“But I want to rip that guy a new asshole,” Mark said through clenched teeth.

Libby pressed her stiletto to the man’s forehead and pushed him back hard enough the crowd had to catch him.

Luke laughed. “The woman can hold her own.”

The other men around him shoved the drunk to the rear, refusing to let him back up to the bar.

“Come on, we need to get to the front of that crowd. I want to talk to Libby.” Mark nudged and pushed through the wall of men, all hollering for the dancers as they strutted, turned and ground their hips to the song Charli sang.

Luke followed right behind Mark as they made slow progress through the throng.

One man raised his fists, his face blotchy with anger and alcohol. “Hey, don’t push me.”

“Not trying to start a fight.” Mark backed off, unwilling to get into brawl, when all he wanted was to get to Libby.

Luke slammed into Mark, and Mark bumped the man with the raised fists, shoving him against another guy.

Fist Man swung at Mark’s face.

Mark shouted, “Duck!” He leaned right.

The fist whiffed past his ear and hit Luke in the jaw.

Luke staggered backward, stepping on the cowboy behind him and knocking him across a table.

Mark faced off with Fist Man and landed a punch in his breadbasket.

The man didn’t even flinch, but his face reddened to a mottled patchwork and he let out a roar. He ducked his head and rammed into Mark’s gut, railroading him through the crowd until he hit a table, slid across it and landed on his back on the floor, stunned and with the wind knocked out of his lungs.

Others who’d been flung or pushed aside leaped into the fray and fists flew unchecked.

Greta Sue muscled her way toward Mark, lifting him up off the floor. “You all right?”

Mark nodded, just beginning to breathe again. When he stood, he swayed, scanning the melee for his twin.
Luke faced off with Fist Man and another guy, holding his own in a two-to-one fist fight.

“I gotta make a call.” Greta Sue let go of Mark and hurried toward the back of the bar and the telephone.

Charli had stopped singing, joining the girls on the bar in the fight to keep the groping hands from toppling them into the crowd.

Everyone was shouting and no one could hear anything, even the sound of sirens. Until the sheriff and five of his deputies pushed through the door. One raised a megaphone to his lips and announced, “Party’s over.”

What do a madame and a bounty hunter have in common? They want the same man.

From River Bound in the Bound and Tied Anthology

When Rosalyn Smythe, aka Madame Rosie, steps aboard the Marie-Dearie, she hopes it’s the end of a year-long search for her runaway fiancĆ©, Dalton Black. Her cabin holds a surprise: James McKendrick. Notorious bounty hunter, old lover…a man only too happy to help her clear the air—and her heart—of her murdering, thieving bastard fiancĆ© once and for all.

In disguise as a riverboat gambler, Dalton is determined to find who framed him for killing two U.S. Army soldiers and who stole the gold they were carrying. He wants his life back—and his woman, who just happens to be on board and on the arm of his former best friend.

Convincing James he’s innocent is easier than winning back Rosalyn’s heart. Especially since Rosalyn seems to be enjoying their competition for her affections a little too much. There’s only one place to work out his dilemma. In bed.

As the sheets become unbearably hot, threads of evidence leading to the real killer are unraveling, leading toward one fateful card game—and one man who’s hell-bent on making sure Dalton has nothing left to lose.

Warning: This title contains hot mƩnage a trois scenes, bondage, and two men loving, sharing and fighting for the love of one woman with very specific bedroom desires and a a bordello full of experience to tempt any man beyond redemption.

She nodded. “Good. If you’ll excuse me.” Rosalyn swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood, swaying. “I’ll be leaving. Have the porter send my trunks to the Rose Palace.”

“What?” Both James and Dalton spoke at once.

“You heard me. I’m moving back to the Rose Palace.” She adjusted the front of her dress and pushed her hair out of her face. “You gentlemen have a good life. I want no part of it.”

Dalton leaped from the bed and blocked Rosalyn’s exit. “You can’t mean that.”

“I most certainly do.” With her fists propped on her hips, her blue eyes blazing, Rosalyn was even more beautiful than Dalton had remembered during those long months apart.

He ached with the need to hold her in his arms…for the rest of his life. “Please, Rosalyn, don’t go. I want to marry you. I’ve wanted to marry you ever since the day we met.”

She crossed her arms over her chest. “I can’t.”

James shoved Dalton aside. “Then marry me. I’m better husband material than Dalton. I’ll be good to you, give you everything you want or need.”

Rosalyn cupped James’s chin and smiled up at him. “I can’t marry you either, James.”

“Is it because you don’t love me?” James grasped her hand in his. “You could learn to love me. I’m sure of it.”

Dalton wanted to slug his friend for trying to take his woman. He pushed his sleeves up his arms, ready to pick a fight.

“No, James.” Rosalyn’s softly spoken words cut through Dalton’s anger. “I love you.”

The knife in Dalton’s gut twisted. “And you don’t love me?”

“I love you both.” She stepped away from James, keeping her distance from Dalton. “I just can’t stand the thought of watching you die. You two were nearly killed because of me. If anything had happened to either of you, I don’t think I could go on living.”

Dalton stared at James. “I don’t understand. You won’t marry either of us because you love us? What kind of cockamamie thinking is that?”

James’s lips twisted in a sad sort of smile. “That’s female thinkin’, if you ask me.”

“Whatever it is, I’d rather not be near either of you when you’re shot and killed by some disgruntled gambler. My heart can’t stand losing you again.”

She retrieved her reticule from the floor, plunked a hat on her head and tried to step around Dalton.
Dalton wouldn’t let her. He gripped her arms and held her tight. “No. I won’t let you walk out of my life.”
“It’s not your choice. It’s mine.” She stared up at him, eyes swimming in tears.

Hope filled Dalton’s chest. “If you didn’t love me, I’d let you go.”

“Okay, I don’t love you.” She sniffled, a tear slipping out the corner of one eye and trailing down her cheek.
“Liar.” Dalton captured the teardrop with his lips, pressing a kiss to her skin. “If you love James more than you love me, I’ll let you go to him, no argument. He’s a good man.”

“Damn right I am.” James’s chest puffed out. “I’d have the captain of this steamboat marry us right here, right now.”

“Shut up, bounty man.” Dalton ground his teeth. “I have more to say.”

“I’m done talking. Let me go.” Rosalyn struggled to break free of his grip, but Dalton held on.

“Not until you hear me out.” He rubbed her pale skin with his thumbs, reveling in her silken softness. “I lost you for an entire year. Every day that passed was harder and harder to bear without you. If I had stopped believing that I’d finally find you, I wouldn’t be here today. I’d have stepped in front of a moving train or thrown myself from a cliff. You are my reason for being. Rosalyn Elizabeth Thomas, you are my heart and my soul.”

“Stop.” Rosalyn placed a hand on his chest. “Just stop.” Tears ran freely down her face. “I can’t live like this, never knowing if the next game will be your last, the next card player will put a bullet through your heart. I love you too much to watch you die.”

“I love you too much to give up any chance of having you in my life, even if only for a day, an hour or a single minute. Stay with me. Love me. I’ll do anything you say to make you mine. Be my wife.”

Snippet Saturday - Every Breath You Take

This snippet Saturday is supposed to be about the Villain. I chose to bring one of my ELLE JAMES books over for this excerpt. That's right I have multiple pen names. Hope you like this excerpt from THUNDER HORSE HERITAGE. Got a really bad villain lurking in the shadows...

Unable to trust anyone but each other, they know working together is the only way to safeguard their child. Could their one-day marriage turn into a life-long adventure?

Excerpt

The thought of her sister lying in a cold, dark morgue brought her back to reality with a dull thud against her bruised heart. No, she had been right to leave and avoid falling deeper in love with the man. Had she stayed with him, she’d have set herself up to suffer the similar heartache of having lost her father and sister to the bureau.

She'd seen what it had done to her mother, watched her as over the years she'd withered away, dying by inches every day her husband was on active duty, and then fading slowly of a broken heart once she lost him.

The sudden buzzing of her cell phone jerked Julia out of her morose thoughts and back to the present. She grabbed for the device and stared at the screen display. Blocked Sender

Julia sat up and glanced at the bathroom door. Should she answer or let it ring? She wished Tuck would walk out at that moment and tell her what to do. But the shower continued on.

After the third ring, Lily woke and let out a cry.

Her nerves jangled by the evening's events and Lily's cries, Julia couldn't think straight. She pressed the talk button and held the phone to her ear, her heart stopping, her vocal chords frozen in her throat.

"Julia Anderson, everyone thinks you're dead. But I know the truth." The raspy voice growled into Julia's ear. "I also know what your sister sent you, before she died."

"I d-don't k-know what you're talking about," Julia lied.

"I have her cell phone. I know about the video file. If you don't keep the file to yourself, and give me your cell phone, you and your baby will end up just like her."

Julia's hand shook so badly, the phone slipped from her fingers and fell to the floor. As if Lily sensed her distress, her whimpers amplified into wails.

Tears welled in Julia's eyes and she stumbled to her feet, staring down at the device at her feet as if it was a snake coiled to strike.

"What's wrong?" Tuck stood in the now open doorway of the bathroom, a towel slung around his hips, water dripping off his body, pooling at his feet.

"The phone," Julia answered in a stupor.

Tuck's jaw tightened. "Whose phone?"

"Mine." She glanced down at the seemingly innocuous phone at her feet.

"You didn't answer it, did you?"

She nodded, her gaze shifting back to Tuck.

A tick jerked in his jaw, his lips firming into a thin line. "The killer?"

She nodded.

"What did he say?"

"He'll kill Lily and me if I share the video with anyone."
